Music And Arts for the Shepway Community
Music and Arts for the Shepway Community is a charity set up to bring music and the arts to everybody in Shepway (Folkestone, Hythe, Dymchurch, New Romney, Lydd, Hawkinge, Densole, and all surrounding towns and villages). We believe in the social, physical and mental benefits that music and the arts can bring.
Meet The Team
Meet our Chairperson, Emma Hatcher. Emma has been on the board of MASC for many years now, previously acting as Safeguarding Officer and Treasurer. She was elected to Chairperson in 2019.
Emma brings a boundless enthusiasm to the role, and passionately believes she can make a difference to the charity and the community as a whole through her volunteering with MASC.
Helen Murray is our fantastic Choirs Representative on the board. The three Shepway Choirs (Shepway Voices, Shepway Youth Voices and Shepway Primary Singers) form our core activities, and Helen heads up the link between these choirs and the board.
Helen is incredibly active and gives a huge amount of time ensuring these core projects run smoothly.
Meet Lozzie Meston, our Publicity Officer! Lozzie has a passion for letting everyone know about the work we do here at MASC. She loves to combine social media, print media, and tv/radio to promote the many projects MASC gives to the community.
She is especially looking forward to finding new ways to get our story out there, so when you hear about us, blame Lozzie!
Sam Wraight has joined our board to help with out fundraising efforts. As a charity it is vital we look for various opportunities to raise funds.
Through quizzes, competitions, fun days, and a host of other events throughout the year, Sam ensures we are active and ready to raise funds to allow our projects to continue. Watch out, she’ll be after a raffle prize from you soon!
Say hello to Lyn! After singing with our groups for many years, Lyn stepped up to the board and used her experience to help with our funding applications, and what a difference it has made!
Lyn successfully got us to the televised final of the Peoples Projects fund where we secured enough votes to win a substantial donation, plus a number of other successful applications. More to come I am sure!
Theresa Bowman has joined our merry band of trustees in the incredibly important role of Safeguarding Officer.
Through years of working within education, Theresa has the background to thrive in this role, and plays a vital part in ensuring MASC is a safe space for everyone to enjoy.
